Appointment of Residentiary Canonry Bristol Cathedral

The Lord Chancellor has approved the appointment of the Reverend Wendy Ann Wilby, MA, Vicar of Halifax, in the diocese of Wakefield to the Residentiary Canonry at Bristol Cathedral upon resignation of the Reverend Canon Brendan Clover MA.

The Reverend Wendy Wilby (born 1949) read Music at St Hugh’s College, Oxford and trained for the ministry on the North-East Ordination Course. She served her title at St Philip’s, Scholes, and All Saints, Barwick-in-Elmet, Ripon and Leeds diocese.  From 1993-94 she was Assistant Curate at St Peter’s Harrogate.  From 1994 to 2001 she was Priest -in Charge of St James, Birstwith and Area Dean of Harrogate from 2000-2001.  Since 2001 she has been Vicar of Halifax, Wakefield diocese. 

Mrs Wilby is married with two daughters. Her recreations include travel and exploring the Western Isles and windmills.
