Key relationships overseas

PM speaks to the Iraqi Study Group via video conference 14 November 2006 Tony Blair set out the importance of Britain’s partnership with both America and Europe this week. The PM told guests at the Lord Mayor’s Banquet that it would be the "surest route to the destruction of our true national interest" for Britain to give up either relationship.

On Tuesday, Mr Blair took part in a video conference where he shared his ideas for the future of Iraq and the Middle East. He told the Iraq Study Group that the Iraqi government wanted to take control of its own affairs, and we should support them in doing so.

Security in a changing world

Will Hutton and Anne McElvoy question the PM in the White Room of 10 Downing Street. 16 November 2006 Measures to deal with climate change and provide "strong, secure and stable" communities were at the centre of this year’s Queen’s Speech. There were 29 Bills revealed during the State Opening of Parliament designed to "reflect the priorities of the British people"

The following day, Tony Blair answered questions from users of the Downing Street website. The 30-minute session covered key themes from this week’s Queen’s Speech - Respect, ID cards, climate change and pensions.

PM greets Yemen's President Ali Abdullah Saleh to Number 10, 16 November 2006 This week we launched our new e-petitions service, which gives you a chance to deliver your views directly to the Prime Minister. In the spirit of interactivity, we’re holding a webchat next week with children’s minister Bev Hughes.

Also this week the PM held talks with the President of Yemen, went to address an economic forum in the North East and took a trip to the Sellafield nuclear facility in West Cumbria. He sees nuclear power as a part of Britain’s future energy solution.
