Lord Lieutenant for Leicestershire

The Queen has been pleased to appoint Lady Gretton DL as Lord-Lieutenant for Leicestershire following the retirement of Mr Timothy Brooks JP at the end of January.

Lady Gretton (59) is an active President of LOROS (The Leicestershire Organisation for the Relief of Suffering) which runs the hospice covering Leicestershire and Rutland. Lady Gretton is also President of the Rural Community Council (Leicestershire and Rutland). She is also involved with other organisations including the CLBA, The Country Land and Business Association, and she has been running the Stapleford Estate since the death of her husband, Lord Gretton, in 1989. Lady Gretton was appointed a Deputy Lieutenant for Leicestershire in May 2001.
