Privy Council Appointments

The Queen has been pleased to approve that the Honourable Lord Gill and the Honourable Lord Hamilton be sworn of Her Majesty’s Most Honourable Privy Council on their appointments to the Inner House of the Court of Session in Scotland.

The Honourable Lord Gill has succeeded the Right Honourable Lord Cullen as Lord Justice Clerk and the Honourable Lord Hamilton has been appointed an Inner House Judge.

Standing Junior Counsel: to Scottish Development Department, 1975-78; to Board of Inland Revenue (Scotland), 1978-82; QC (Scot), 1982; Advocate Depute, 1982-85; Judge, Courts of Appeal, Jersey and Guernsey, 1988-95; President, Pensions Appeal Tribunals for Scotland, 1992-95; Senator of the College of Justice in Scotland since 1995.
