The Prime Minister has re-appointed Miss Judith Mayhew as Trustee of the Natural History Museum with effect from 1 May 2002 for a further period of four years.

Biographical Notes

Judith Mayhew is a barrister and solicitor. She has been City and Business Adviser to the Mayor of London since 2000, Chairman of the Corporation of London’s Policy and Resources Committee since 1997, and special adviser to the Chairman of Clifford Chance since 2000. Miss Mayhew has been Director of Gresham College since 1990, and is a board member of the London First Centre, London First, and the London Development Agency. Miss Mayhew is also Governor of London Guildhall University, and Birkbeck and Imperial Colleges, London University. She has been a Trustee of the Natural History Museum since 1998.

Miss Mayhew has not been involved in any political activity in the last five years.

Notes for editors

The Natural History Museum houses over 68 million specimens of animals, plants, fossils, rocks and minerals. This national collection underpins the important research carried out by the Museum to benefit environmental, medical and agricultural sciences. It also includes the Zoological Museum at Tring. Trustees of the Natural History Museum are not remunerated.
