The Prime Minister has today appointed Mr Christopher Fisher as a Trustee of the Imperial War Museum for a period of four years.

Biographical Notes

Christopher Fisher joined Lazard Bros, the investment bank in 1980 and became Managing Director in 1987. Mr Fisher has been a Member of the Court and Council, Reading University since 1987 and has served as a Member of its Audit Committee since 1991, becoming Chairman in 2000. He has been a Member of the Advisory Board for the ISMA Centre (the Business School for Financial Markets) since 2001. Mr Fisher holds no other public appointments and has not carried out any significant political activity in the past five years.

Notes to Editors

The Imperial War Museum was founded in 1917 to "record the story of the Great War" and was set up under the Imperial War Museum Acts of 1920 and 1925. Its remit was later extended to cover the Second World War and further expanded to all military operations involving British or Commonwealth forces since August 1914.Trustees of the Imperial War Museum are not remunerated.
