Knighthoods Conferred

The Queen has been pleased to approve that the honour of Knighthood be conferred upon Terence Michael Elkan Barnet Etherton Esq, QC, His Honour Judge Raymond Evan Jack, QC and Richard George Bramwell McCombe Esq, QC on their appointment as Justices of the High Court.

Terence Etherton: Born in 1951 and educated at Holmewood House School, Tunbridge Wells; St Paul’s School, London and Corpus Christi College, Cambridge. Called to the Bar, Gray’s Inn 1974; QC, 1990; Bencher 1998; a Deputy High Court Judge since 2000; Vice Chairman, Chancery Bar Association, 1999-; Chairman, Broadmoor Hospital Authority, 1999-; Chairman, West London Mental Health Trust, 2000-; Mem. Council, RHBNC, 1992-. Raymond Jack: Born in 1942 and educated at Rugby; Trinity College, Cambridge. Called to the Bar, Inner Temple, 1966; QC, 1982; a Recorder 1989; a Circuit Judge since 1991; Judge of the Bristol Mercantile Court since 1994. Richard McCombe: Born in 1952 and educated at Sedbergh School; Downing College, Cambridge. Called to the Bar,Lincoln’s Inn, 1975; QC, 1989; Bencher, 1996; Recorder since1996; Attorney General, Duchy of Lancaster since 1996; a Deputy Judge of the High Court since 1998.
