Privy Council Appointments

The Queen has been pleased to approve that Sir John Anthony Dyson and Sir Andrew Centlivres Longmore be sworn of Her Majesty’s most honourable Privy Council on their appointment as Lord Justices of Appeal.

Sir John Dyson: Born 1943 and educated at Leeds Grammar School; Wadham College, Oxford. Awarded Kt, 1993. Called to the Bar, Middle Temple, 1968; QC 1982; Bencher, 1990; a Recorder 1986-93; a Judge of the High Court of Justice, Queen’s Bench Division, since 1993-2001; Presiding Judge, Technology and Construction Court 1998-2001; Member, Council of Legal Education, 1992-96; Judicial Studies Board, 1994-98. Sir Andrew Longmore: Born 1944 and educated at Winchester College; Lincoln College, Oxford. Awarded Kt, 1993. Called to the Bar, Middle Temple, 1966; QC, 1983; Bencher, 1990; a Recorder, 1992-93; a Judge of the High Court, Queen’s Bench Division, 1993-2001; Chairman, Law Reform Committee, Bar Council, 1987-90.
