Prime Minister’s Official Spokesman

Alastair Campbell has been appointed Director of Communications and Strategy. He is replaced as the Prime Minister’s Official Spokesman (PMOS) by both Godric Smith and Tom Kelly who have been appointed to that post.

Godric Smith is 36 and married with two children. He previously worked as Deputy Press Secretary at Downing Street since 1998. He attended the Perse School, Cambridge and read classics at Worcester College Oxford. Tom Kelly is 45, lives with his partner Linda and has four children. He moves from the post of Director of Communications at the Northern Ireland Office after working for the BBC in Belfast and London.
