The Queen has been pleased to approve that the honour of Knighthood be conferred upon His Honour Judge Peter Francis Crane, Esquire on his appointment as a Justice of the High Court.

Peter Francis Crane: Born in 1940 and educated at Nottingham High School, Highgate School; Gonville and Caius College, Cambridge (MA,LLM); Tulane University, New Orleans (LLM). A Circuit Judge since 1987; Resident Judge, Peterborough Crown and County Court since 1992. Called to the Bar, Gray’s Inn, 1964 (Barstow Scholar, 1963); in practice on Midland and Oxford Circuit, 1965-87; Recorder, 1982-87. Member, Senate of Inns Court and the Bar, 1983-86 (Member: Professional Conduct Cttee, 1984-86; Bar Cttee, 1985-86). Member, Judicial Studies Bd, 1993- (Member, Criminal Cttee, 1993-). Chairman: Kettering Constituency Liberal Assoc, 1981-84; Pytchley Parish Council, 1985-86.
