The Prime Minister has re-appointed Professor Dawn Ades as a Trustee of the Tate Gallery for a term of five years with effect from 13th April.

The Tate Gallery houses the national collection of British paintings, the Turner Bequest and 20th century paintings and sculptures. The Tate Gallery comprises the Tate Gallery of British Art at Millbank London, the Tate Liverpool and the Tate St Ives. The Tate Gallery of Modern Art is due to open at Bankside in Spring 2000. Trustees of the Tate Gallery are not remunerated. Biographical Notes Professor Ades is Professor of Art History and Theory at the University of Essex and the author of various publications of art. She has not undetaken any significant political activity in the last five years.
