The Queen has approved the appointment of Baroness Hogg as a Governor of the British Broadcasting Corporation. The appointment is for a period of 4 years from 9 February 2000.

This new appointment is made in succession to Sir David Scholey (Governor) who resigned his appointment on 31 January 2000.

This is a part time appointment. The post attracts a salary of £9,250 per annum.

Baroness Hogg is non-executive Chairman of Frontier Economics and a director of GKN, 3i and P&O. She has a background in journalism and finance and experience in both the public and private sectors. She was Head of the Number 10 Policy Unit between 1990 and 1995.
