The Queen has approved that, under the Public Works Loan Act 1946, Mrs Rita Hale and Mr John Parkes CBE be re-appointed Commissioners of the Public Works Loan Board and that Ms Sarah Woods is to be appointed a Commissioner. The appointments take effect from 1st April for a term of four years.

The Public Works Loan Board is responsible for administering Government loans to local authorities. Mrs Rita Hale, Director of Rita Hale & Associates Ltd, was appointed to the Board in 1996. Mr John Parkes, former Chief Executive of Humberside County Council, was appointed to the Board in 1996. Ms Sarah Woods is Director of Finance at Birmingham County Council.
