The Queen has been pleased to approve that Dr Ian Graham-Bryce FRSE FRSC, Mrs Cheryl Miller and Professor Jane Plant CBE be appointed members of the Royal Commission on Environmental Pollution with effect from 14th April 2000 for terms of three years.
The Queen has also approved the following reappointments:

- Sir Michael Marmot FMedSci
- The Reverend Professor Michael Banner
- Professor Roland Clift OBE FEng
- Mr John Flemming FBA
- Professor Richard Macrory

The Royal Commission on Environmental Pollution is an independent, standing body established by Royal Warrant, which advises The Queen, Government, Parliament and the public on environmental issues. Biographical Notes Dr Ian Graham-Bryce (63) is Principal and Vice Chancellor of the University of Dundee, and previously headed the Environmental Affairs Division of Shell International. Mrs Cheryl Miller (45) is Chief Executive of East Sussex County Council, and with effect from April 2000, Chairman of the Association of County Chief Executives. Professor Jane Plant (55) is Chief Scientist at the British Geological Survey, and heads the Geoscience, Resources and Facilities Directorate.
