Privy Council Appointments

The Queen has been pleased to approve that Sir John William Kay and Sir Bernard Anthony Rix be sworn of Her Majesty’s most honourable Privy Council on their appointments as Lord Justices of Appeal.

Lord Justice Kay was born in 1943 and was educated at Denstone College and Christchurch College, Cambridge (MA). He was called to the Bar, Gray’s Inn, 1968, Bencher 1992, a Recorder 1982-92, QC 1984, Kt 1992, and was Judge of the High Court of Justice, Queen’s Bench Division since 1992. Lord Justice Rix was born in 1944 and was educated at St. Pauls School, London and New College, Oxford and Harvard Law School. He was called to the Bar, Inner Temple, 1970, a Bencher, 1990, Q.C. 1981, a Recorder 1990-1993, Kt 1993, and was a Judge of the High Court of Justice, Queen’s Bench Division, since 1993.
