The Queen has been pleased to appoint Major Alexander Trotter DL as the Lord-Lieutenant for the Area of Berwickshire following the retirement of Major General Sir John Swinton on 21st April this year.
Biographical Notes
Major Trotter was educated at Eton College and commissioned into the Royal Scots Greys in 1958. He left the army in 1968 to pursue business interests and currently manages Meadowhead Ltd, a company operating in the leisure industry. Major Trotter previously served on Berwickshire County Council and is past chairman of The Nature Conservancy Council in Scotland. He is currently President of the Scottish Landowners Federation. He is married and has three sons.
