The Prime Minister has re-appointed Max Hastings as Trustee of the National Portrait Gallery for a further period of five years.

Biographical Notes

Mr Hastings was appointed a Trustee to the National Portrait Gallery in 1995 and has served one term. Mr Hastings is currently editor of The Evening Standard. Formerly Director and Editor-in -Chief of The Daily Telegraph plc, contributor to The Sunday Times and columnist at The Daily Express, Mr Hastings has served as a war correspondent and has a variety of publications and TV documentaries to his credit. Mr Hastings holds no other public appointments and has not carried out any political activity in the last 5 years.

The National Portrait Gallery houses the collection of portraits in various media of eminent persons in British History. Trustees of the National Portrait Gallery are not remunerated.
