‘Talk to Frank’ drugs campaign

A new drug advice service offers support to parents and young people 24 hours a day by phone or email.

The Frank campaign is aimed at young people, parents and carers concerned about drugs. A website provides information on how to get help, an A to Z of drugs and what to do when worried about someone else.

The 24 hour advice line - 0800 77 66 00 - will help anyone who has questions about drugs and a translation service is available. It is staffed by trained specialists who will provide the facts on drugs and refer callers to treatment and support organisations.

People can also ask questions by sending an email: frank@talktofrank.com

The campaign aims to give young people reliable information that will help them to understand the risks associated with drug use. It also aims to give parents and carers the confidence to talk to children about drugs.

Health Minister Hazel Blears said:

“Drugs may be illegal but talking about them isn’t. I am delighted that we now have Frank to help parents, carers and young people get accurate and credible advice and information about drugs.”
