The Prime Minister has today appointed Mr Richard Lambert as a Trustee of the British Museum for a term of four years.
Biographical Details
Richard Lambert has an extensive background in media and has worked for the Financial Times for 35 years, the last ten years as Editor until 2001. Other positions held at the Financial Times include Financial Editor, New York Bureau Chief and Deputy Editor. Mr Lambert is a non-executive director of LIFFE and AXA Investment Managers and writes for various publications and lectures. His unpaid appointments include Chairman of Visiting Arts and a Governor of the Royal Shakespeare Company. He is the UK Chair of the France British Colloque, Director of the International Rescue Committee UK and a member of International Advisory Board of British American Business Inc. He has recently been appointed to the Court of the Bank of England. He was awarded an Honorary Doctorate of Letters at the City University in 2000 and a Fellowship at Harvard’s Kennedy School in autumn 2002.
He holds no other public appointments and has not carried out any political activity in the last five years.
