The Prime Minister has re-appointed Mr John Lewis as Chairman of the Wallace Collection until 31 December 2004
Biographical Notes
John Lewis has been Chairman of the Wallace Collection since 1998, after becoming a Trustee in 1994. Since 1983 he has been Chairman of the Attingham Trust (a leading charity in the field of education for UK and overseas museum curators and academics). He is also a Trustee of the Burlington Magazine and The Watts Gallery, Council Member of the Historic Houses Association and a Visiting Committee Member of the Boston Museum of Fine Arts (USA).
Notes for Editors
The Wallace Collection houses the collection of paintings, furniture, ceramics, arms and armour and other works of art bequeathed to the nation by Lady Wallace in 1897. Its Trustees are not remunerated.
