The Prime Minister has appointed Tom Wright as a Trustee of the Imperial War Museum for a period of four years.
Biographical Notes
Tom Wright has been the Chief Executive of Visit Britain since 2002. He was Managing Director of Saga Holidays and a Group Board Director of the Saga Group between 1999 and 2002. Before joining Saga he worked for Scottish and Newcastle plc as Marketing and Sales Director for Center Parcs in England, and then Northern Europe based in Rotterdam. In his early career he had marketing roles in the food and drink industry. Tom Wright is a member of the Marketing Group of Great Britain, a director of Visit London and Chairman of the Society of Ticket Agents and Retailers (STAR).
Tom Wright holds no other public appointments and has not carried out any political activity in the last five years.
Notes to Editors
The Imperial War Museum was founded in 1917 to "record the story of the Great War" and was set up under the Imperial War Museum Acts of 1920 and 1925. Its remit was later extended to cover the Second World War and further expanded to all military operations involving British or Commonwealth forces since August 1914. Trustees of the Imperial War Museum are not remunerated.
