Question the PM face to face!

17 March 2006

Tony Blair is shown the IT equipment on a visit to the Bournville School and Sixth Form Centre in Birmingham Tony Blair is to take part in an exclusive video webchat - the first of its kind.

Ten members of the public will win the chance to put questions live to the PM on the MSN website.

The topics for the event, which takes place on 4 April, will be Africa and climate change.

To enter the contest, simply pose a question an any aspect of last year's G8 Presidency priorities.

Since the Gleneagles summit, progress has been made on tackling the biggest problems facing the world. Major achievements have included:

  • Launch of the International Finance Facility for Immunisation to provide $4 billion to fund vaccinations - saving five million lives by 2015
  • Movement towards establishing an African Standby Force, able to intervene to prevent conflicts
  • World leaders agreeing for the first time that climate change is a man-made problem requiring a rapid response

This will be the first time Mr Blair has taken questions via live video over the internet. He will be linked to the questioners via webcam technology.
